Kris Surette has worked with Ecopixel clients to provide content management system (CMS) training and support, organize their website content, write and create Web content, enhance their online visibility and publicity, plan and execute online campaigns, and maximize search engine optimization (SEO) on their websites.
A Cornell University graduate with a degree in communication, Kris has continued to take courses that sharpen and expand her skills in areas such as search engine optimization (SEO), online visibility and marketing, Web analytics, Google AdWords, online social networking and Web development.
Through the years she has coordinated with designers, photographers and Web developers for her clients' projects. Kris worked in the public relations and writing fields for more than 15 years. She directed media relations for Champlain College in Vermont. Prior to that position, she was a PR representative at the Museum of Science in Boston and at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont.
She has also been a reporter in southern Vermont and a freelancer writer in Colorado and Massachusetts. She has written for magazines, newspapers and websites. Her publicity work and writing has earned awards from the Publicity Club of Boston, Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the Vermont Press Association.
Kris is a graduate of the Leadership Champlain program through the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce. She has been a mentor at Burlington's King Street Youth Center, and she served as a mentor in the Girls' Eye View program through the Girl Scouts—a program that encouraged middle-school girls to express themselves in writing and photography.
She was on the outreach committee for the successful Friends of Bolton Valley Nordic & Backcountry / Vermont Land Trust campaign to conserve much-loved skiing and hiking terrain next to Bolton Valley Ski Resort.
A former ski instructor in Vermont and Colorado, Kris enjoys all forms of skiing. Among her favorite activities are hiking, mountain biking, sailing, photography and traveling. She co-publishes the Vermont skiing blog at www.SkiMaven.com.
