The Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust protects significant agricultural, natural and scenic lands, and encourages land stewardship in northern and central Massachusetts. They turned to Ecopixel to create a modern website that provides a coherent way to share their work, events, resources and fundraising efforts with residents of 23 towns. Ecopixel launched the new website — on time and on budget — as part of an effort to kickstart the organization’s spring fundraising campaign.
Mount Grace helps protect land around the region in many different ways including: pre-acquiring land that towns or state agencies protect, helping farmers apply for and negotiate agricultural preservation restrictions, supporting the projects of smaller trusts with bridge loans or technical expertise, and helping landowners protect their land through conservation restrictions.
The new website is powered by the easy-to-edit TYPO3 CMS (content management system) and features a mobile-friendly responsive design. The content can be easily seen and read on all devices — from smart phones to laptops to desktop computers. The website has a smooth donation form with the option for donors to cover the credit card transaction fee as part of their donation; visually-appealing news and events; and user-friendly navigation to the site’s deep content.
As part of the project, Ecopixel helped Mount Grace reorganize all of their content and designed a new section for discovering recreational opportunities on many of the area's conserved lands. Ecopixel handled the content entry and layout of most of the website’s new content, and imported content from the old website, including an image-heavy news archive dating back seven years. Ecopixel also designed a new e-newsletter template to match the new website design.
