The Charlotte Land Trust in Vermont conserves lands with strong agricultural, scenic and ecologic values. Since 1986, their work has demonstrated the vital role that conservation plays in promoting and strengthening farming in the community.

The land trust has been an Ecopixel customer since 2009. Now that so many of their website visitors use smartphones and tablets to access the website, it was time to update the website to use responsive web design. ("Responsive web design" means the layout adapts to different screen sizes from smartphones to large desktops.) Online fundraising has also grown in importance.

Ecopixel worked with two board members on the project, working together to craft a fresh design for the site and reorganize the website's content outline, expanding the number of pages almost three-fold. During the project, Ecopixel:

  • Retained and rearranged all of the existing content — facilitated by the flexible TYPO3 CMS that powers the website
  • Converted old news clippings into a news section that has become a place to share relevant conservation news with constituents
  • Assisted the volunteer content editor with hands-on training and formatting advice for entering new text and beautiful photography
  • Upgraded the donation form to one that allows donors to cover the processing fees, ensuring that 100% of their donation goes to support conservation in the Town of Charlotte

Thank you, Charlotte Land Trust, for your conservation work!
